Airbnb: Urgent Toronto Accommodations
I am reminded of the organizing that happened in Halifax (and lots of other places) when planes were grounded by 9/11 and tons of air passengers suddenly needed places to stay.
(In our rickety old building on Barrington Street, a bunch of us made a plan to share studios or sleep elsewhere so that we could offer a few apartments, but *cough* strangely enough, nobody was placed in our beautiful-but-tiny, -cracked, -mousey, -musty, -smoky places…)
I think this is an amazing initiative from airbnb, to step up and consolidate in a way that makes it super easy for resources and need to find each other. I love the idea of companies recognizing their own potential strengths in their communities, however large or small.
